Speaking to TwinsArchives.com sports correspondents, the ED, a proud multiple birth himself, highlighted the historical and symbolic importance of this dedication. “Victor Osimhen’s tribute to the T-men is a monumental honor for twins and multiple births worldwide, particularly those of Nigerian origin. It serves as a poignant reminder of the era when twins and multiple births were rejected and killed before the intervention of Mary Slessor. Her legacy paved the way for their survival, and January 13, 2025, will mark 110 years (a century and a decade) since her passing.”

The ED further emphasized that Osimhen’s gesture resonates deeply with the vision of CT Foundation. “This goal is an answered prayer for us. It validates our mission to create global platforms that celebrate and empower multiple births, from the envisioned Tamblimpics (an exclusive sports festival for twins and multiple births) to talent hunts and other initiatives.”

Reflecting on his own athletic versatility—football, basketball, chess, gymnastics, and more—he underscored the potential of multiple births to excel in various fields. He called Osimhen’s dedication a “symbolic open door” for all multiple births, particularly Nigerians, given the rise in their numbers due to advancements in medical science.

“The goal is not just for the T-men; it is a victory for all multiple births,” he said. “We deeply appreciate Victor Osimhen and hope he will dedicate a future goal to Mary Slessor herself, whose efforts made the survival of Nigerian multiple births possible.”

The Foundation also used the occasion to rally all multiple births globally to begin preparations for the inaugural Global Multiple Birth Sports Festival scheduled for August 2026. This historic event will showcase the talent and unity of twins and multiple births worldwide, celebrating their unique contributions to society.
